CBD: Questions & Answers

What Is CBD?

CBD is one of the 104 chemical compounds known as cannabinoids found in the cannabis or marijuana plant, Cannabis sativa. CBD is not psychoactive.
Because CBD is extracted from the cannabis plant, many people assume that using CBD is the same as using marijuana. However CBD is actually non-psychoactive cannabinoid.

What part of the plant is used for Spark CBD oil?

We utilize the most potent parts of the plant including flowers and leaves.

What strain of Cannabis does our CBD come from?
The specific strain is called Wild Bourbon and is a Sativa-dominant hybrid bred for its high CBD and low THC percentages and uplifting effects.

*Can I test positive on drug test while taking CBD?
Full Spectrum CBD with 0.3% THC contains trace amounts of THC, less than 0.3% which is the federally allowable legal limit. Even though the percentage of THC is so minimal it could result in a positive test result.

What does Full Spectrum mean?
Full spectrum hemp oil is full of the terpenes, cannabinoids, flavonoids, fatty acids found in hemp, all of which have therapeutic value of their own and help create what’s known as the entourage effect.

How does it work?
The endocannabinoid system is activated by introducing cannabinoids to the bloodstream. The safest and most universally-legal way to experience endocannabinoid system support is to try CBD oil.

Will Spark CBD products get me high?
No. CBD is an entirely different compound from THC, and its effects are very complex. It is not psychoactive, meaning it does not produce a "high"; or change a person's state of mind, but it influences the body to use its own endocannabinoids more effectively.

What is the difference between CBD Oil and Hemp Oil?
The main difference between CBD oil and hemp oil is that hemp oil does not contain CBD. CBD and hemp oils are made from different parts of the plant and have different purposes. CBD is a compound found in industrial hemp. At Spark CBD, we utilize a whole plant CO2 extraction process that allows us to draw the CBD from the plant material and filter out unnatural substances, while maximizing pure CBD concentration. While CBD is extracted from the entire plant, minus the seeds, hemp oil is extracted from the seeds. Hemp oil is made from pressing hemp seeds and is used in a variety of products. Hemp-seed oil is used as a protein supplement for food, as varnish for wood and is often used in hair and skin products.

What Extraction method does Spark CBD use?
CO2 Extraction

Where do we source our hemp?
We source our hemp from farms in Colorado.
